Question Bushnell AR Optics

Did a search on here and only found one thread regarding these scopes and it did not have any real information in it.

I am thinking of buying a Bushnell AR Optics 4.5-18x40 Riflescope w/ Drop Zone 223 Reticle. Anyone here have any experience with this scope? I searched google and only found 2 different forums with threads about this scope. Both threads I found had nothing but good things to say about it but I just want to ask here as well to see if any of you guys have experience with this scope.

Bushnell AR Optics 4.5-18x40 Riflescope w/ Drop Zone 223 Reticle FREE S&H AR945184-KIT1, AR945184. Bushnell AR Optics Rifle Scopes, Bushnell Rifle Scopes.

Any scope recommendations(around$250)? I want at least a 4-12 power scope. It will be used for coyote hunting and target shooting up to 500 yards.

I have been all over the net and in our picture thread and got a good idea of what is out there but just wanted to see if anyone had anything to add about this scope or any other i might be interested in.

thanks!

I looked at that when I was considering a scope. Seemed like a pretty good buy. Your link shows it for sale with a mount for 239ish. As I recall, I think I passed on the Bushnell because I wanted a scope with illumination. As it turned out I went with a 4-16x44 Primary Arms. They have them for 159 on their site right now. (Mine came with a free knife.) I chose to go with a Burris P.E.P.R. mount. they typically will run you about 80-90 bucks. I found a used one for 40, but even at 90 bucks with the scope at 159, that gets you to your budget.

I just got the scope and haven't had the chance to put it though it's motions but it has pretty good reviews. I posted a picture in this thread (which also has alot of other suggestions)........

Scoping things out

I think my post with the pic was #34 if you want to see it mounted on my AR for perspective.

Here's the link for PA Scopes....

https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary-...opes-s/919.htm

There is also a 4-14x40 ffp in there for about 250 (without a mount, no illumination)

Also, though they don't stock the model you are considering they have other brands, just click on their main page and then click rifle scopes. Great company, fast shipping.

I have seen that primary arms scope and it has good reviews but I used them once before and did not have a great outcome so I will no longer be purchasing from them in the foreseeable future.

thank you for your input though.

If I do purchase the bushnell scope it will be with the burris pepr mount as well.

Wow. I think you're the first person I've heard to have had a bad experience with PA. Sorry to hear that. I can understand though, I feel the same way about Palmetto State Armory. Although if I had payed attention to the 4.2 million posts that said I'd have to wait to receive my order until we have a manned base on Mars I may have thought twice before I hit the checkout button.

After many many thousands of dollars I rate PSA tops, when placing an order I expect delivery within 30 days. Many times items have arrived in less than 30 but as long as I can be reasonable PSA will provide me with fine products and low price. Midway and Brownells are in the same boat due to unavailable items at order time...just be patient and they will come through.
Forgot the Bushnel, I had the AR 223 scope that was built well and had clear optics (not as clear as Nikon or Leupold). The Bushnel is heavier but provides great features. I would still. Have mine mounted except for my best buddy's need.

I have a Bushnell TRS 25 mounted on my Stag Arms duty rifle. I've had good luck with it so far. Pretty rugged little optic.

I had a Nikkon Pro Staff 4X12 worked fine for me. I know that I have seen several refurbished for sale on the internet so that caused some concern after I bought it. With .223 it's not taking a pounding like a 7MM or 300 win mag so it should hold up in my opinioin. Just my two cents.

I had something very similar. They probably came form the same Chinese assembly line. Mine lived on a Ruger 22/45. It didn't hold up.

Shooting buddy had one. Brightness control was no good. Green light too big/bright and distracting. He sent it back too.

If ya got a bad taste with Primary Arms over that one I don't blame you. Their other stuff gets good reviews.

I've got a Bushnell 6500 Tactical Elite and a couple dime store Bushnell scopes. All have served well for the intended use. My 6500 (out of your budget) might be something to consider for an AR. It has a magnification range of 2.5 x 16 which makes it useable for up close and fairly quick target acquisition as well as long range.
