Is this wear normal on new m&p 15?
Hey fellas I just purchased a new 15 sport yesterday so I'm very excited. Question is, after only 100 rounds down range it's showing wear on the charging handle as is it's scratching or shaving off the finish. Is this normal wear after only 100 rounds? I plan on using it a lot, so she's not going to be a safe queen.

I've got four AR's from three manufacturers and all of them have wear on the charging handle and on the receiver extension where the stock tube screws in.
Looks normal to me. Shoot the snot out of it and enjoy.

Wear it out and then get a BCM handle.

Keep the carrier assembly wet and shoot the beans out of it...the rifle was designed to function in adverse conditions so a scratch or wear mark just gives it character.

Welcome to a great forum (it can't be all bad, they tolerate me). Congrats on the Sport, and yes it's normal.
Good Luck and good shooting.

Also take a look at the "Raptor" charging handle, well worth the money.

Yup, the Raptor doesn't have added hardware hanging off the handle so it doesn't snag on gear.
