Default M&P AR Sport Case question

ok i have searched the innerweb and still cant make heads or tails...
my sport is 36" long and has a NC star III sniper scope and Redot

and is 11'' from bottom of hand grip to the top of the reddot....
also i have a cheek extender with a light on the front right side quad rail which makes it about 4" wide...

i have a cheap have a Ace case 35" which i bought with the weapon at a show now it has grown way out of it.. i want somthing with side arm space either in side or in pouches or pockets.. but i think soft bag is the way to go.. if anyone has these dimensions on there sport or AR let me know for sure what works with out taking it down to transport to range... Thanks

First off, Welcome to the forum.
Voodoo tactical makes a nice 36" bag that will handle your Sport, two hand guns, magazines, cleaning supplies, and what have you. It can be had in a single or double rifle configuration. They also make a 42" version if you feel the need for something longer.

Others will be along with more suggestions for you momentarily.
Good Luck and good shooting.

the doubles look good on room with just one rifle in them.. i just have the one rifle with 3 handguns.. dont for see another rifle but you never know...

i will there be to much room with the 42" that would leave 3 inches on each end fully extended.. does not seem like to much room i dont want it to jammed in there pushing against the ends

I have the 42" and it is really too big for the carbine. Extend the stock all the way out, and the stock and barrel just barely go into the pockets. The rifle is mostly held in place by the velcro straps.

Yep, I looked/bought several bags in the 36/38/42" range before deciding on the Voodoo Tactical 36" double rifle case - there's a thread on it for more detailed reading, but essentially for a carbine, you want the 36" or 38" max. The 42" is just too long, and a bit of a hassle at the range, etc. If you have a SPR or 20" barrel or other rifles to tote, ie AK, Rem 700, MB500, or whatever, then yes the extra length is needed. But for carbine AK's just get the 36" or maybe the 38" (ie the S&W bag). Collapse the stock, plenty of room.

Your main issue is going to be the cheek adapter and light width. Unless they are easily removable, you will probably want to buy a double gun case even if only carrying one rifle. Most single cases are 3" wide, where the doubles are 4"+.

I can highly recommend the VooDoo Tactical. The Drago is also a good choice. Lots of people also like the Condor as well. All very similar design. The 5.11 is another nice bag but it's single rifle only in 36", you have to move up to the 42' to get the double.

Default Condor

I recently bought the Condor single case.
It fit my Sport (stock).
4 20rd mags, 3 30rd mags (with room for 1 more), 4 boxes of ammo.
Even with that, I can probably stash a pistol or 5 in the second, zippered area. Although, they'd be loose, as there are no velcro fasteners or pockets designed for storing handguns.

I have a Sig Sauer 36" soft case that has a divider so I can carry two AR's. It also has 3 big pockets on the front so I can carry a bunch of mags. It's very well built, has a heavy zipper, and since I got it used it was cheap, but I would have bought it new if I had to. I have optics on my ARs and they fit no problem and are held securely in place with velcro straps.

That sounds even funnier if you say it out loud.

I have a Pelican hard case, and it has a bunch of room for my scoped rifle, several 30-round and 20-round magazines, cleaning kit, and various other extra items. It also has a handle on the end and a handle on the side, with rollers on one end. Very convenient. Unless of course you're a sniper. Then, it's probably a little bulky and heavy.

Nice looking bag, very similar to the VT/Condor/Drago/etc bag...same basic layout and pockets. The reality is that all of these are probably stitched together in the same factory in Asia with just different labels sewn on...

I just looked at this online...looks nice but I had doubts about internal room, so I have a question for you Armybrat...

I called the 800 number and asked if there was room for the cleaning supplies I've put together and carry in the plastic case a glock 23 comes in. They told me that on the flip side of the case from the pic online (which shows the side with the mag pouches) there is another pouch that is big enough to hold the Glock case. Is that correct?

Dunno how big your Glock case is, but yes there is a zippered pouch compartment on that exterior side that runs about 20" long (forward of the 5 magazine pouches), 8" across at the base, and 3" across at the tip of the case.
Hope that helps.

Sometimes we're about an inch short.... or so she said. lol

The only way to be sure is to actually try to fit it in.

But the exterior zipper pouch compartment I'm talking about is on the same side as the 5 mag pouches.

The opposite side has no external zipper pouches, just a couple parallel straps that could hold two or four knife size pieces of equipment. I really don't know what those are for - am totally new to the AR world.

I just bought a 36" Drago soft case and love it. Lots of storage and tough. My sport fits in it nice and snug.

Drago's a solid bag, I picked up one from PSA when they did one of there "bag & 6 mags" sale. Compares nicely (maybe even nicer) to my Voodoo Tactical Double 36". The Drago Tan is sort of a weird color shade (I have a whole thread on it a few months back, if interested, or bored lol), but in black it sweet .

Because of this thread I got to researching...it looks like the best bang for the buck is Drago...lots of storage, good quality, and the price is good too. The best price I found (beats Amazon AND eBay's best prices) is $68.36 for the 36" double rifle case...and I'm getting a Drago Tracker backpack as well for $41.62, again the best price I've found anywhere.

I spent an hour on the phone with Arthur, the company owner. He is SERIOUSLY customer service oriented. Link:

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but the Gun Holsters Unlimited site seems buggered.

I looked up the Drago case. The initial picture has a price of $68.36 on it. When you click on the picture to look at the individual product, the price shows $57.93. I thought it was a minimum advertised price thing so, I didn't think much of it. However, when added to the cart, the price jumped back to $68.36.

What's the right price? Will they honor the $57.93 price?

Rastoff...its the first time I've done business with them, but after an hour talking to the site/company owner, Arthur, I'm surehe'll do the right thing. Give the 800 number a call...it'll probably be Arthur that answers the phone.

I sent them an email last night. I haven't received a response yet, but they have fixed at least some of their products.

I searched for an EOTech EXPS2-2. The price on the grid display was $525. When I clicked on the item last night, the price changed to $444 on the detail page. That's a great price for that optic. When I added it to the cart, the price jumped back to $525. That's what I put in the email. Interestingly, today the price stays the same all the way through for the EOTech now, but the bags still change like I listed above.

I think it's a glitch in the system. I'd love to get that EOTech at that price, but I don't want to take advantage of a small company through an honest mistake either.

Rastoff...I took a look at the backend of the site (yes, there is a way to see SOME detail on how a site is put together...not much, but enough) and the detail pages are messing up all over the site. Grid view and cart are functioning properly though.

I called Arthur and told him its not just the EOTech that is messing up, but the rest of the detail pages as well, and he's getting his IT person on it.

To my benefit, it gives him an alternative if his IT folks don't take care of him. That's what I do...build and maintain websites...and yes, I DID leave my name and number...

Very good Bob. While I love to get good pricing, I'd hate to see someone screw themselves because of some website glitch.
