m&p sport handguard
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about adding a grip to my sport somewhere down the line. I was wondering if most aftermarket rails fit the handguard. I know a lot of people will recommend magpul, but I kind of like the traditional looking stock handguard.

A rail segment for a standard AR-15 handguard will mount to the standard 15-Sport handguard.

At least get something with a heat shield. You can buy the standard M16 style handguard with them.
Unfortunately, the Sport lacks them. I already have to deal with barrel heat in my Mini-14. No thanks, in the AR to. First thing that got replaced.

I'll definitely think about getting a heat shielded handguard. For now I'll stick with basic stuff. Gonna try out different foregrips. Is the Magpul MOE or CTR stock, is that a worthwhile upgrade? Everyone seems to have one, but I can't find a problem with the "stock" stock.

Foregrip and handguard are the same thing...and are what you said you were keeping because you liked the stock look...

Ummm, no... the OP is asking about adding a rail to the handguard to be able to use a foregrip, such as a vertical foregrip or an angled foregrip. Foregrip and handguard are not the same thing.

Just up graded from stock stuff on my 9 year old BushMaster.
Magpul CTR stock fits MUCH tighter and gives me a better cheek weld than any stock buttstock. The MOE fore end is very comfortable and has a very good heat shield. I bought Magpul because I know it is American made and they had the balls to tell the oppressive state government to stick it. And move their operations to gun friendly states. So, IMO, Magpul is the way to go.

Shoot your rifle first and then go from there. You may not even need a vert/angle grip....
