What is a good but will not break the bank Muzzle Brake for the M&P15 sport, that will reduce muzzle rise while shooting. Thanks for the replies, looking to spend no more than like 60.00 dollars

I bought the Fortis RED MB from eBay for about $66 and some change. Don't really have much to compare it to but compared to your regular birdcage MB, muzzle rise was reduced to almost nothing. I am really happy with it with no regrets. I really wanted the Lantac (still want it) but it was out of my budget at the moment. Target acquisition made me feel like a pro.

Don't mean to sound coarse, but there have been several threads on muzzle brakes recently. Give the "Search" feature a try and you will come up with a lot of opinions and maybe even some good advice.

Some here will advocate "buy once, cry once", and after my first foray into the land of muzzle brakes, I will have to agree. I shopped around and found a good deal on the Lantac Dragon. Save a few bucks when you can and buy a quality brake, the result will pay big dividends in the end.

There is a lot of info out there about brakes, comps, and flash hiders. The big thing to keep in mind is that they can be subjective to the shooter. Also take into consideration exactly what it is you want to do. Each of these types of devices have a trade off. IE reduces muzzle climb, but has extremely concussive side blast. And then no one what to shoot next to you.

I personally like the Battlecomp and it is what I use. As gunny4053 said, the Lantac Dragon is another nice comp that I shot a while back.

Another thing to look at is how you are holding the rifle. Having the proper stance and grip is the cheapest solution.

I have one of these and love it. It's not going to break the bank and if you shoot through it you can buy another one and still not break the bank... it took my mp15 sport's minimal recoil down to almost nothing. double and triple taps are very fast.

Anybody else have this one? I just installed one on my sport. Interested to see how it works.

Wow looks like they just took Miculek's and copied it... probably works fine it the specs are true.

I have the Miculek, which works great, for the price. The Amazon model looks similar to the Miculek and is less expensive, but you also need to have a crush/lock washer to align the Amazon brake. The Amazon brake has additional venting on the top which may not make it better, as the porting has to be equalized to work properly. I do know the Miculek works great for under $40.

Could you elaborate on your likes compared to stock?

I feel that the porting on the amazon brake does help keep muzzle flip down a bit, but maybe that's just my imagination. My brake had no issues with alignment and when i dropped a dowel down the muzzle it was perfectly aligned with the muzzle brake holes/exit. The brake was super easy to install. I took a torch to heat up my birdcage a bit and spun it off with ease. (I clamped the barrel in my big *** vise between 2 pieces of 2x4) putting on the brake couldn't have been easier. I put the crush on, tightened it down by hand as much as i could and then took a big heavy screwdriver wrapped in duct tape and pushed it through the baffle opening and torqued it down and timed it. I've put probably close to 1500 rds through my brake and it shows almost no muzzle blast wear.
