Painting S&W logo.
I see a lot of the logos that are painted. I like the look. I tried to search the forum on how to do it and what supplies are needed. For some reason I can not search. Any help would be great.
Thanks.

White nail polish and NON-acetone nail polish remover. Paint over what you want to fill, let it dry for an hour or so, and begin lightly wiping across it with the NON-acetone nail polish remover. It will wipe away the excess and leave the logo filled.
I wanted to do it over top of my M&P logo because it wasn't very well painted by the factory, but it's much too shallow for this to work. But the logo on the other side is deeply cut and will work perfectly with this technique. I've done it to my Glock 19 and my Shield.

I've successfully done it with a white crayon. Color it to your liking and wipe off the excess. When you tire of it clean it with a dash of Hoppe's and a nylon brush.

I used to use tire markers.
These days I just use Tester's model paint.
The Testor product is much more solvent resistant than the crayon.
While not S&W MP15s, these are a few I've done

Here's a kit from the 70's that was available in gold or silver. Don't know if still around or if there was a white kit.

To remove paint from the logo (assuming you or someone else painted it) I use non acetone nail polish remover and a toothbrush. I wipe over the area with the polish remover, dip my toothbrush in the remover and gently scrub the area with the toothbrush. Hope this helps.

White Out correction fluid, AKA Liquid Paper is flat white lacquer and is found everywhere. Holds up well, I've used it on front sights and easy to remove with nail polish remover, lacquer thinner or acetone.

Here's a Bushy I did with gold crayon. It held up well and looked pretty good.

I did it recently... Bought a Laquer paint stick, which is one of the common recommendations to use. Originally I bought to fill in the caliber and logo on my 9mm & 357/40 magazines, and the the S&W logo on the AR as well. Turned out pretty good, I think I need to clean it up a bit more, (or go ahead and fill in the text below the logo), but overall it looks good I think.
Also threw in the 45* throw lever from Battle Arms - actually I already had the levers so just ordered the center section...

Swapping to an ambi lower as an experiment, so while I had the S&W lower mostly stripped, figured I add some more eye candy... Still need to clean it up a bit, but otherwise looks good imo.
Better pic added... well cleaner, anyway .

Very nice. 78Staff, you're killing me, now I'm going to have to change out my upper for the YHM caliber etched, and of course, color in the rest of the lettering.

How silly to want to attract attention to your handgun.
Next we'll have threads about cutting notches on your grips.

You can also remove the lacquer stick paint with mineral oil.
Works great.

I've used Testors paint for sight touchups in the past and I agree with you regarding the solvent resistance...
But, what did you use to take the excess paint off the outside surface? You didn't let the Testors dry before removing the residual did you?

I use Model Paint..Testors!! It works GREAT!! I use FLAT white, plus a tiny amount of tan to soften the color effect....! Brush on & then wipe off with paint thinner dampened CLOTH...this will remove the excess...the same way as in the factory!! Practice makes perfect!! BTW, This model paint works GREAT to apply to older front or rear sights....flat yellow works great on a old blade style sight! Let dry for a day.....

As mentioned, Lacquer-Stik is what you want to get.
Not permanent, but very, very durable.
Easily removed, dang near impossible to mess up the application.
I have done all many collectible firearms markings (barrel date stamps, serial numbers, sight line marks, etc.) From .22 to 50BMG.
You can get them in any color.
This is the stuff museums use if they want to highlight info.

I did mine with a crayon as well. Use a hair dryer to warm it up and soften the wax. Fill in the engraving and then clean it up with the non harmful choices everyone else has suggested!!

I did mine in a dark blue, that toned it down big time.

The lighting was poor in the room, kind of looks purple-ish in the photo, but you get the idea.
