Yeah, this is what I was looking for in the way of a critique on the QD. I am still trying to figure out if I want to wear the single poitnsling over my left or right shoulder. There were other mouting plates that weren't ambidextrous. I may try to find a MS3 mounting plate with the 2 rings and sell this ASAP...I dont like the ring....noisey and impedes the stock to close all the way if not just right.
But,
I had to stop and think about this whole apocalyptic urban warefare mind set I ( we ) fall into once I (we) buy an AR type rifle.
It certainly is a boon for the MAGPUL and similar companies that want to romanticize this rifle with accessories for all these combat senarios; WW3 around the corner?. I get it! It is fun! I am doing it too!
The Idea of an ambidetrous sling for when during CQB in your back yard from garden shed to the garage against the Zombies, your point of fire changes and you have to fire quickly with your other arm...blah-blah-blah....I fell for it by buying the MAGPUL ASAP plate. There were other plates that had 2 rings on either side-but NO, if I have to switch hands during a firefight.....PAH-LEEEZ....
I came back from the range today to see how I shot at 100yds and 200 yards. More about that in another post. It was fun. I was more about the technical differences in the 3 ammos I shot 55 & 62gr 5.56 and the .223 55gr.. when really that's what this really all about.
The first time M&P sport owner will rush out and outfit his barbie like I did.....The Sport is nearly perfect out of the box....the changes I made were more for comfort[ pistol grip, carbine hand guard, sling and stock] I walked from the 50yrd , past the 100yrd to the 200yrd range all day long and carried my rifle instead of using my new sling because I felt embarrassed like Barney Rubble with an AR at the range. LOL! but , I should have deployed my sling as an after thought. I dunno why I am going off on myself , I guess it's the whole commercial aspect of the AR or firearms in general, but probably more the AR...it is SEXY. It is fun to shoot. It is an accurate rifle...
So if you want to buy stuff for your AR, I bought all my stuff from AR15.com and go to the EE ( equipment Exchange), new stuff comes up every hour or so...lotsa a stuff...

There are a number of manufactures that produce a QD back plate, as well as a couple that simply clamp on the buffer tube. The biggest problem I've seen with QD single point setups is someone collapsing the stock and pushing the release button.
Good Luck and good shooting.
I probably should have answered this in your other thread about slings, but since you ask me here, I'll leave the answer here.
