Trying to decide which to go with. I have a cheap quad rail on my sport now that added some weight so I want to replace it.

I know the Daniel defense does weigh less than the MOE, but on a Sport will the added free float feature actually make a difference in shooting accuracy to make it worth spending the $249 vs the $33 for the MOE??

Marksmanship, bullet selection, and trigger will affect accuracy more than free float IMO... especially at shorter ranges like 100 yards or less... unless you are slinging up really tight.

Nope, not at all.

Unless you're trying for "bench rest" type accuracy, the difference will be almost unnoticeable. Does it make an accuracy difference? Yes, just not a huge difference.

Plus, the MOE will just drop right in in a few seconds. The free float will take more effort to install.

For the record, I have both the MOE and a free float on my ARs. So, yeah, I know exactly how much difference it makes; very little.

you are going to hate it. I met a guy at the range last weekend, and he had his sport all deck out with all this *****. he had a FF quad, $$$$$, he had an EOTECH $$$$$ and he had this neat bipod contraption. He didnt like how the rail felt in his hands. though he spent big dollars to have this setup that way he liked how my rifle felt...you know to have , and to hold, through sickness and so on....

So right off the bat i switched out pistold grips to the MOE+, added MOE carbine hand guard, magpul VG ( the stubby one), and a str stock; later an h3 buffer, sling and SPARC-2 red dot.

you know what? You should put 2-300 rounds through your rifle with your current setup. out of the box the rifle weights 6.5 pounds....just work on how it feels in your hands and a red dot sight , unless you go for a scope.....just shoot the thing for a while and get back to us.....

let us know how you do at 100 yards....

My Sport sport's a MI Gen 2 keymod drop in hand guard that really adds a bit of "tactical" (love that word) class to the rifle :-)
