Another new Sport owner.
Most of my buddies have an AR or are building one and one has been posting deals he's found. I found where everyone talks about the great price at GunBuyer.com, ordered an M&P Sport. After waiting all of last weekend, waiting through a 2 day for the background check, and missing getting to the gun shop yesterday ( they close at 4:30), I picked my Sport up this morning. This is my first AR and I can't wait to get out and shoot it.
$539 for the AR, $20 transfer fee, and free shipping. Best local deal was $640.

Thanks guys. I'm going to get some ammo tomorrow and try to get out and shoot it. The only thing I don't like about it is the MBUS rear sight. The larger aperture moves when I push the smaller one down. I'll most likely buy a different rear sight when I buy some more mags.
I've always wanted a Smith and Wesson, just never figured my first would be a rifle.

If you can, shop around for an all steel A2 rear sight. It adusts for windage and elevation and has a small and large rear aperture. These were standard on the earlier Sports. Love mine.
Just a suggestion.

I've seen the pictures of the earlier Sports with the sights like yours and wish S&W hadn't switched to the MBUS. I have a friend who is his departments firearms instructor and I'm waiting for an email from him on suggestions on what to buy.
I'll try and find an A2 like you suggest too.

A rear iron sight that adjusts for both windage and elevation is the most useful iron sight type I've used. No farting around with a front post elevation tool. Set the front sight once, do everything from the rear sight.
