Lower Receiver Take Down Pins
Just wondering if you guys can suggest any Lower Receiver Pin Kits that will tighten up the little bit of play? Gun is newer and only has a couple hundred rounds thru it, but for the money I spent I'm wondering why the upper feels so sloppy where it meets the lower? Is there any Bigger (thicker) pin kits that will tighten up this play? Or is this just the norm. Thanks

Pins won't help, you need the accu-wedge or something similar.

Pins won't help. That play between the upper and lower is to be expected. It does not affect accuracy.

If you want to go budget, go to the hardware store and buy some O-rings. Find one that will be tight but not too tight over the front hinge on the upper receiver. Push it down and flush. Reassemble the upper. Little to no wobble.

I know it's supposed to have a little wobble, but I just wanted to tighten it up a little more than it is. I think I should try the Accu-Wedge.

Put a disposable foam ear plug in the lower and close the upper on it - good to go!

Either the holes on the upper or on the lower were not machined to a tight tolerance or were just within the it's upper tolerance. I believe this rifle should not have the slop it has comeing from S&W. I used an accu wedge to tighten up my M&P15, you will have to trim it to size to get it just right. What does it say when my cheep MMC is rock solid and I can use different uppers on the lower. Not that the MMC doesn't have different quality (many) issues.
I carried M-16's for many years and had some with extreme play between the upper and lower still managed to qualify expert year after year. I am currently building a fixed stock lower with a 20" barrell upper for longer distances.
