Will it fit? Vortex Sparc 2, VMX 3x optic, and MBUS flip up sight
I have the M&P 15 MOE magpul edition rifle. I'm trying to figure out if anyone knows if the Vortex SPARC 2 and VMX 3x optic will fit on the upper receiver top rail and still be able to keep the MBUS flip up rear sight for co-witness. Thinking it'll be tight if so. Anyone have any first hand, or expert information for me?

Looks like you have a different red dot... but yours could be kept on the receiver with a cantilever mount.

i just put this combo on my sport this weekend. I could not use the rear MBUS. The VMX 3X needs to be mounted as far back on the receiver as possible for eye relief. for me, even mounted on the very last rail slot, you still have to strain a bit to push your face far forward enough to get a full field of view through the VMX magnifier. So even if you could do it, I think you're better off leaving the MBUS out, or if you really want backups use a set of 45 degree offsets.

Vortex has the right idea. On their web sight they use a cantilever mount.
I think a lot of guys buy magnifiers for a red dot but they end up in the parts box. Adds a bunch of weight (three quarters of a pound for the Vortex 3x) and doesn't compliment the purpose for a red dot which is unlimited eye relief, field of view and fast target acquisition.
