Default Cheek rest for OR?

Recently I replaced the red dot on my OR with a scope, and I'm finding that I can't get a good cheek weld without losing sight through the scope.

I've been looking at a possible replacement for the (pardon the phrase) stock stock , but currently ones with adjustable cheek rests are a bit out of what the wife will let me spend...

So far, I've found a couple on Amazon (at some point I'll take a look at what my range / gun shops do or don't have) that look like they clip into the "slots" along the top of the stock. Anyone have experience with these sorts of cheek risers? Any good?

Thanks,
Jason

I've had success in the past with the attachable cheek rest available for Magpul's CTR stock. This way you get a new adjustable stock and comfort (for less than those built-in).

Are you really wanting to keep your original stock and just add a cheek rest or are you ok with going aftermarket?

The problem with using a riser on an AR is you have to use one that does not impede usage of the charging handle. LaRue makes one where the cheek rest is spring loaded to allow you to charge the rifle then return to place. But if you are having trouble with your scope you might have the wrong ring height.

This is what I was referring to, if you ditched your current stock - LaRue Tactical RISR? / CTR Combo | LaRue Tactical

Been considering a cheek riser for while now. Have two AR's with 1/2" risers to eliminate any ghosting from the frt A2 sight post. One of them has the Moe CTR on it so I ordered on of these to try out.

I debated trying the Magpul pull riser, and while they claim not for use on adjustable butt stock, that really isn't an issue for me onna counta I shoot most often with stock extended. Hope these are worth the extra money. To me, they look a lot nicer. I wasn't excited about that goody angle on the back of the Magpul riser....

Got my RISR today and installed it on a CTR butt stock. Absolutely love it! Perfect height, aligns my eye perfectly with my scope now. Well made, good looking and functional.

I need to get one again but that's exactly what I had on my DD.
