P Mags Gen3 or Gen2?
I can buy Gen2 Pmags for an AR $3 cheaper than the gen3. Are the gen3 worth the extra money? I have no clue what the difference would be

only time I pick up a gen 3 is when I get the occasional 10 or 20 round mag.

I like the dot matrix thing, but that's really not a big deal since there are many ways to mark a mag.
The choice may already be made for you if your rifle has a magwell grip or if it's some special non-standard AR lower shape. The Gen3 PMAGs have an overtravel stop on the back edge that will prevent its function in certain scenarios.

+1 Only gen 3 mags I have are 10 rounders, would like some 20's at some point, but have bought a couple 10 packs of the 30 round gen2 mags lately for under 8 bucks a mag shipped.

I have a strike industries fang trigger guard on my AR. The overtravel tab prevented the use of the gen 3 mags.....until i dremelled the over travel tab off...problem solved...

Gen 3 basically just have dust covers over the gen 2. I prefer saving the money. I don't need mag dust covers, especially at $3+ per mag.

I have both. Work supplied the Gen 3 and I run mostly Gen 2 at home. I guess if I had to choose I would pick the Gen 2.

I saw it on the internet, so I know it is true, that a guy or his cousin called and talked with a Magpul technical support staff and was told that:
If you fill a Magpul magazine and it has the dust cover, you will not have any issue with long, long term storage.
