Default Need help with a free float!

Hey man, nice rifle! By the way, I just posted the same question here about 3 days ago for my M&P Sport. I'm by no means an expert, but here is what I found out from the responses from our fellow rifle owners and my own research: Free Float hand guards only improve accuracy marginally at very long range, over 200 yards. From what I've gathered most guys can agree with this statement. Based on this fact, the only drop in free float hand guard is the Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 which costs around $250 and is now discontinued. When I called DD about the difference between the Omega 7.0 and the new Lite III they said the Omega 7.0 is discontinued and new Lite III is a "true free float", the new Lite III is also $300 and one must replace the delta ring to install so that makes it, NOT a true drop in. So evaluating the fact that to get a true free float is gonna cost me $300 plus I probably have to hire a gunsmith to replace the delta ring or buy all the necessary tools to change the delta ring myself so I can gain marginal accuracy and over 200 yards, I decided against getting Free Float for my rifle. I opted for the none-free float Midway Industries drop in Quad Rail Gen 2 two piece, this way I saved a lot of money and headaches. I hope this info helps your decision.

I am thinking that with the MP15OR you will probably have to change out the gas block unless you get a free float handguard that has the cut out for A2 sights (don't know if this would work with the OR), or a shorter carbine length free float rail. The railed gas block on the MP15OR is same height as the receiver rail so I don't think a mid or rifle length free float handguard will go over it.

I got the Troy Delta rail and it really is drop in. I actually was having an issue at first and called their technical assistance and they sent me a new piece because they had a few that weren't in spec. Once I got the new piece it took all of five minutes to install. It should fit your OR fine, it is free float and has a hole for your front sight or in your case, gas block. I like it because it enables me to reach my support arm out farther.
