I'm interested in buying a new Sport II. Unfortunately I live in Colorado, where the idiot governor "forced" Magpul to exit to a more favorable environment by the magazine limitations.
Anyway, I have a choice of the #10203 or the #10204 models (CA & NJ/MA compliant), due to these limitations (10 rd. mag).
Here's my problem: the website and the catalog are not clear when describing "Other features". For example, #10203 lists "fixed stock" then "6 position CAR stock". So, where can I find an accurate comparison of all the "features" of each? (I never have good luck calling the "Contact us" phone numbers).

You might want to hold off a bit. The Colorado senate is trying to repeal the magazine ban. Then you might not have to buy a CA/MA compliant model after all.

You can always buy one on line and ask the dealer to take the high capacity mag out of the box before they ship it to you in Colorado. If they will do this than you are OK and good to go.

+1. You don't need the CA, NY and NJ stuff. You just need to delete the 30 round (standard capacity) magazine.

Doesn't look like the Colorado MAG restriction will be lifted anytime soon. The Colorado Senate passed SB 113 repealing the restriction but the House essentially killed it... April 28, 2016

If magazine capacity is the only issue, don't buy either of those compliant models. The MA model will have a fixed stock. They can have the regular 6-position stock but it has to be permanently pinned at the longest position. Not sure about the stock on the CA model, but stay away from it due to the great idea of the "bullet button." This "feature" means that the mag cannot be removed from the gun without the use of a tool. Most people poke the release with the tip of a .223 bullet. You should be able to find a dealer that will send the regular model with no mag at all. I don't think many will discount anything for keeping the mag, but mags are pretty cheap, so that's not a big factor.

If you're going to wait for the legislature to repeal an existing law, get comfortable. Even if they do it, it will take at least a year. Then, if anyone, and I do mean anyone, contests it, it will take multiple years.

Here in CA the lawsuit to repeal the 10 day wait was won at the lower court and then again at the 9th circuit. Since the state appealed it, we still don't have a resolution. It has been in the courts since 2011.

Yes, if they will do this. Many sellers won't do this. Why? Because they take the mag out and then the recipient complains that they stole the mag from them. Yeah, it's stupid, I know, but it has happened. So, dealers are reluctant to remove any accessories.

What you can do is have the receiving FFL keep the mag or modify it for you.

I live in Mass and have the Sport II, it has pinned adjustable stock and the comes with 10 round magazine. Otherwise it is the same as the normal sport (no bullet button) If your state allows adjustable stocks then a good gun smith should be able to unpin the stock and adjust for length of pull if required.

A bullet button can be easily changed.

Thanks for the help. My FFL holder I deal with enlightened me. I bought the 10202 model and he just removed the 30rd mag, offering me a 10rd or a $10 credit on the cost. Problem solved.
