New S&W sport II for $507 shipped!
Just picked one up from Whittaker Guns out of Kentucky. Only lasts today and tomorrow I believe. Heads up for those that want one, cheapest I've seen em.

That price is WRONG now. It's actually $499. I knew I spent too much on my Sport but hey it was Christmas and my kids were paying anyway and they wanted something to put under the tree for me. Both my kids have a lot more money than I do. No kids and great jobs (and spouses that also have great jobs) will do that.

Thanks for the update but whats the difference between the 10202 and the 10202 "W" as the description looks identical and nothing on S&W's website detailing it ?

Good question. I couldn't find anything that differentiated the base number from the W but the web site description isn't very detailed. Maybe someone on the board who has actually bought/ received one can comment. My guess is they just add a W to the S&W PN to make it unique to them. I need to contact them about shipping details and will ask them directly. I will post their response.

I actually called to find out if there was a difference between 10202 and 10202W and they said there were none, but the W could be a new shipment of rifles coming in. I'm curious to see what they say to you, Luxy54.

Below is their response to my question about the W.
"We sold out so quick on Friday that we ordered another 40 more knowing they would be in by Tuesday and not delay shipping. We received them yesterday so everything is being shipped out now. The only way I could tell the different between the 2 items was to put the W at the end. But it is the standard 10202."

I have to say very easy/ smooth transaction. Gun shipped yesterday, one day after order was placed. FFL was already in their DB. They responded to email questions very quickly. No cc up-charge (nice!) and shipping fee w/ ins. was very reasonable.
Now just hoping the package arrives with no issues.

Just ordered one of these from Whitakers about an hour ago. $499 + $5 insurance and $12 shipping. Total $517. Ships next Tuesday they said. Awesome deal. Plus my ffl doesn't charge me a transfer fee.

Wow, that's a great deal with the free FFL. I thought I was doing good with a $10 per handgun/$20 per long gun rate.
Mine was processed today after paying last night, it should ship next week.

Man... I just bought one for $569. Kinda wishing I would of held off. Oh well hopefully I will forget the $70 extra I spent when I pull the trigger for the first time!

No worries, you will. I paid $620 for mine a few years ago and thought I got a hell of a deal. Years later I've burned through enough ammo that the extra I paid for the rifle is a drop in the bucket.

anyone who has recieved on can confirm the package? (im kinda a picky guy i like for it to be in the box with the foam and all like the unboxing videos i have seen online!)

Yup make sure your FFL will receive the package from Whittaker, then go pick her up. Your FFL will also probably charge you for the transfer, but that's normal. And yes. The rifle should come in its factory box for you.

It does come in the standard S&W corrugated box w/ foam. I suggest you get the optional insurance for $5. The packaging is not the greatest for a standalone shipment.

Got mine in yesterday and everything looked great. One thing I did notice is that it was dripping with oil and I mean soaking wet with it. Not complaining as oil is a great thing but it definitely needs to be cleaned before firing. Worth every penny, great deal.

Every rifle should be checked before firing. They can have too much oil, the wrong kind of oil or no lube at all. None of those things are good.

Keep checking back they told me they get a shipment in about once a week. And they may still let you buy it and it would just be on back order til another shipment comes in.

How come you didn't get the $5 insurance?
Mine is at my FFL's. Going to get it tomorrow. Don't think you could build one with same parts for that cheap plus you get S&W warranty that you don't get from a frankenbuild.

That is a great price. Not for me though. I prefer a .308 in an AR.

It did seem to be a great deal to me. This is my first AR also. Mine came in today. Super fast shipping. The only problem that I had was getting them on the phone to pay for it. Phone rang like it was out-of-service for days, but it was just busy, I guess. Finally got thru. Overall, very pleased.

I am out because they are located in KY so I have to pay tax. They are also 3 hours + from me so it does not make sense to drive there so I have to pay to transfer it. So that $507 rifle is now $557 + and it won't do anything that my Colt 6920 or BCM 14.5" will not do.
If I did not already have other AR15 rifles I would consider it even at the KY price.

I did too but mine was a Christmas present so it had to be bought when I could get it. Yes I get to buy my own presents. My kids just pay for it. Beats getting 15 sweaters I'll never wear every year.

Guys, don't sweat the $100. If you liked it at $600, nothing's really changed. It's something you might own for life, and the $5000 worth of ammo you'll go through is a bigger factor anyway. I paid $559 for mine but I'm still very happy with the deal.
