New Sport II Today
The funniest thing happened today. Took the fiancé to pick her M and P 9mm Shield up at our fave LGS and got myself a new toy as well. Brand new Sport II - 500 bucks after cashing in my Xmas gift certificate. Can't wait to shoot it this weekend! Dealer said they are flying off the shelves and got the last one he had in stock. Yep, been a good day.

Congrats, enjoy it.
Please though, don't call it a toy, it's not. That has always bothered me. Sorry.

Congratulations on the purchase as they are an excellent AR 15 and a good deal at the price that you paid.

Well it certainly should not be called an assault rifle. I shoot a lot of my guns for sport and for the sheer fun of it so I guess they are toys.

I don't see why you can't call it a toy and still treat it with respect. As long as you're putting safety first, call it what you want. Same as calling a 500 horsepower car a toy.
