My first Ar. I bought the NJ compliant version so i don't have any issues. The factory model comes with a cheap fixed stock that is one piece with the buffer tube. Can the buffer tube be removed to add an aftermarket stock? (pinning it of course) thanks

What makes it NJ compliant?

Jut got mine last night so I can't answer your question. It's California Compliant until the new law makes them all "assault weapons."

In New Jersey, AR type rifles may have only 2 of the following features- 1) collapsible stock 2) pistol grip 3) detachable magazine 4) flash hider and 5) bayonet lug. The S&W 15 Sport has the pistol grip and magazine but not any other of the above features, making it NJ Compliant. The legislature in New Jersey is completely out of control, as is the governor. I moved out of New Jersey in 2014 because of this reason.
