Who has the best Sport II price?
Finally decided between the Sport II and Ruger AR 556. Currently best price i'm seeing is about $620 wheras they were $550 a month or two ago. Any chances of finding a better price? Wondering if I should roll the dice and wait or bite the bullet and pay the extra $$$.

Search for the rifle at slickguns or grabagun. Those two are my go to sites when I'm in search of the best price on something.

Thats where I'm seeing the best prices but half the places are out of stock. I went to 3 LGS today. First one sold their last sport II this morning for $650-675. Second didn't have the Sport II but had a Ruger AR-556 for $675. Third one had both so this allowed me to look at both side by side. $645 for the Ruger, $679 for the Sport II. Only two Sport II's left but plenty of Rugers.

I went through GalleryofGuns.com last month(7/13). You pick your gun and enter your zip code then they show you 6 LGSs within 50 miles of your location with the price each will sell for. I picked up my Sport II for $609.99 + $9.95 shippping and $53.94 sales tax. The local Sportsman's Warehouse was selling them for $669.00. Gallery of Guns also adds a lifetime warranty for factory defects to any gun purchased through them. I'm pretty happy with my deal but as usual, YMMV.

You are in the middle of a contentious election year. As we get closer to November, demand will increase and supply will decrease. Prices will rise. If this year's panic cycle is anything like the last one, in two months you'll think $620 was cheap.
Honestly, the best deal I've seen so far was a Bushmaster ORC w/optic combo for $650. Chrome lined barrel. Low profile gas block. It looks like a PA micro on a QD mount.

Whittaker Guns has them listed on their website at $549.00. That is where I bought mine, but you need to call and order soon, as they cannot keep them in stock. If you want one, do not hesitate. If this election goes sour, you may not be able to get one...

I can't remember what site it was that I saw this, but, Colt is NOW offering the EXPANSE model with a dust cover and a forward assist. I think the price was somewhere around $659. It could have been higher, I don't remember. But, a Colt Expanse is a very nice AR to start off with.
Not as good as my Sport 1 that I am missing already.......
Take these members advice and buy one NOW! Novermber is getting closer............

Check Armslist. I picked one up today from a LGS post for $599.99 before tax. They'll transfer as well.

Keep checking with them.... I called to order one and was told that they were out of stock, but were expecting more in.. That was on a Friday.. I called back on Tuesday (Whittakers are closed Sunday and Monday) , and was told that they received a shipment of twenty-five in on Monday and that they had already sold twelve of them.. I ordered mine and put it up on this board. Two days later, a poster said that he had called Whittakers on Thursday and they were out of stock already.. If you want one at their price, keep calling about every two or three days, as they apparently are getting them in on a regular basis...

I did see them on Buds earlier today for $669.
Damn shame too since they were $589 two weeks ago.

Mine is coming to my FFL on Monday. I saw the price Whittakers had but they were out of stock, never thought to call them. They are getting harder to find anywhere. Is their new shipment selling for the $549 price?

I am have trouble find one locally as well. Dunhams ran them for $649 and only had two available. Gone before I got there. Rural King lists them at $619 and also out of stock.
Do you have the Whittaker link for them?
EDIT: NM found it.

I just bought one through RKguns.com. They just went back in stock today. $619 + $9.99 shipping to FFL of choice. May be a better deal out there but I could not find it locally or anywhere that had them in stock for less. I hope it makes for a great entry level AR-15. I shall look for some accessories now!

Grabagun, Gunbuyer.com, and Buds. These are my go to sights for guns. If they are out of stock, get on their email list , and as soon as they come back in, they shoot you an email. When you get that email, buy it asap, they go out of stock in a day or so.

I had Gander Mountain match the Whittaker's price as Whittaker's is within the GM 50 mile price match area. I got it at 549 and got a $60 rewards card back for using my GM credit card plus $10 for opening the account.
So basically I ended up at $479 plus tax. This was early July.

When did you get these mags? I am always on their site looking around and I still can't find PMAGS for that price on their site.

Cabela's has the Sport II for $699.00 plus tax. Every other location mentioned in this thread is out of stock or the lower price is long gone. I guess when you figure in shipping and FFL transfer that Cabela's won't charge, the Cabela's price in not that far out of line.
Your thoughts?
Anyone have any suggestions where to purchase?

It is amazing how things change. A $500 rifle for $625 is a great deal. LOL

If you're not set on having a Sport the Anderson AM-15 is a lot of rifle for the money, currently on sale at $499 here:

This is a much better deal IMHO based on the configuration and price. Anderson stuff is not always pretty but they run.

With the current price increases on the entry level AR's that is a great deal. And you're correct. It's a shame to have to say that a $400 rifle, IMO, has to be a great deal at $625.

Who has the best Sport II price?
I bought mine for $599 a few weeks ago, FYI. $619 after FFL fees then sold my Savage Axis for $250 to offset the cost. I'll search for another hunting rifle in a year or two, they aren't going to try to ban those.

I got mine a couple months ago for 699. I paid more than I wanted but considering the political climate, I'm just glad to own one! I search around my area and it was one of 3 in stock. So not wanting to risk availability I paid about $100 more for instant gratification. No regrets at all. Love the gun.

Price at a local gun shop was $650 for the Sport II. Shooters of Jacksonville, FL. Rugers were $100 more expensive.

Yes it was 499 +12 at Whittakers and it chaps my butt that I didnt strike on that deal
Then everyone ran out for about a month it seemed like.
Then they were back in stock and roughly 625 to 699 everywhere.
Got mine at SSD International for 569. It was the last one about 2 weeks ago and they havent restocked yet. Everyone elses pricing went way up when they restocked and I expect SSDI's will also.

Just picked up my Sport 2 at my LGS in Maine for $615.00 + tax and if you use a CC it is $635.00 + tax
He only keeps them on the shelf for a week or less and he has kept that price since I started thinking about the Sport over the past few months
