Anything up to the 60-something grain weight should work pretty well, in theory. In fact, try as many weights as you can. Sometimes, rifles don't know the "rules".

Depends on what your intended use is. If you are looking for range Ammo with mediocre accuracy then, yes, ae 55 gr is fine.

Usually a 1-9 twist does well with 55 grain bullets.

Stay away from Steel case. Brass case keeps the gun cleaner.

Wolf Gold is the best brass bang for your buck IMO.

1-9 twist is good for 55-62 grain bullets. But, will shoot anything else you put in it, maybe not as accurate, but at short range you won't notice the difference.

I also recommend PMC 55g 5.56. Quality is right there with AE, some say better.
Go to sgammo.com and buy a case of Wolf Gold. Best deal around.
Save the steel case for 7.62x39. I don't like it in my AR.
