Will the strike fire 2 co exist with the MP 15 sport 2 with the mount it comes with....?

It will co-witness. I have it and love it.

Got one also, and great to use. With the standard cantilever mount, it's a 1/3 lower co-witness.

Just an FYI. The StrikeFire 2 is a fine red dot. But, if your looking to spend maybe $20 more, have a look at the Vortex Sparc 2. It's a smaller unit, lighter, comes with 3 mount choices, one of which is perfect co-witness on the Sport 2, and is a 2 moa vs 4 moa dot. I've had both and personally prefer the Sparc 2, although both are fantastic units.

I have one, simply love it.

Vortex has a section about the Strikefire II for Q&A. IIRC, someone asked - and had answered - this very question. It might be worth a jaunt over.

have a Sparc AR as well, absolutely love it!

+ for the SPARC AR. More streamlined that the Sparc 2 and takes a AAA battery. I have mine on a sport 2. Can mount absolute or 1/3.

I got my Strikefire 2 for a lot less than a Sparc 2. And the weight difference is 1.3 oz.. It is longer but unless you want to mount a magnifier I don't see a lot of reason to worry about that. The main reason the Sparc 2 is shorter is that it uses a CR2032 watch battery instead of the much longer lasting CR2 battery the Strikefire 2 uses. That was one of the things I liked about the Strikefire 2 over the Sparc 2.

Thanks for the suggestion on the Sparc 2, I think I may get the Sparc AR.... The extra $20 is not a big deal, And I like that it takes a standard AAA.
And it comes with a couple of mounts.

Just so you know there's a reason new batteries are taking over. They are much better than the old style batteries. Start with the fact CR2 batteries (the ones used in the Strikefire 2) run at 3 volts instead of 1.5 like AAA batteries do. Then there's the fact they hold a charge for as much as 10 years. They don't leak power like AAA or AA batteries do. Those expiration dates on AA and AAA batteries are there for a good reason. They lose power whether you are using them or not. Lithium based batteries like the CR2 lose far less power.

That means you can buy a couple of batteries and be set for years. It doesn't take a lot to power a red dot sight. So you can leave your rifle in the safe or standing in a corner (if you have it for HD or whatever) and not worry that it won't work when you need it to work.

There are certainly advantages of AAA batteries. You can find them anywhere. And they're cheaper. But in the long run for the purpose we're looking at (red dot sight) the CR2 battery is a much better choice IMO. Yeah they aren't as available but that's what the internet is for. I just ordered a couple of extra batteries for my Strikefire 2. It cost me $6 with free shipping from Amazon. Maybe it was $7. It could have been $6 on eBay. Whatever that isn't a lot for batteries that have the features they have. As always YMMV.
