Default Took Her too the Range.

Indoor range that is....
Been awhile since I shot one of these, Brought back memories.
Getting older and vision not as good as it used to be, But at 20 yds rapid fire, All the shots in the head.
Rifle came with a 10 rnd ASC mag, And it was the only mag that would drop upon release, The P mags and Hex mags stuck.
I'll try a little fine sand paper to see if I can fix, That not dropping....
Rifle had a different smell while shooting, I'm used to the old LSA lube smell..LOL

Sounds like it was fun that was had. Can't comment on the smell. as the only thing I got to use was 38spl S&W snubbies carried in shoulder holsters. As to the mags, both my asc and my gen3 pmags drop clean. While both my hexmags release but don't drop free.

The S&W M&P-15 is a different rifle from what we carried back in the 1970's. These are built by a real gun company. The one I carried was built by General Motor's Hydra-Matic Division. The barrels are not chrome lined and are shorter. These are built to be owned, shot and maintained by civilians. All in all, a very different, albeit familiar, rifle.

My mags don't drop free. That means they don't risk landing on something on the ground that bends their lips. I like that.

Everything Uncle gave me was Colt and used plenty of LSA and never had any problems of any type that I can remember. Brand new when issued it was pretty much silver after a year in the field.

They don't don't have to drop free , had a few drop on concrete and marked them so I would be aware of them. At the range I don't mind them staying in the gun......firefight against the zombie hoards would be another matter.

Mags are supposed to drop free. All my P mags and factory Colt GI mags drop free under spring tension from the followers on all my Colt 6933s, 6920s and my Larure OBR.

Sounds like your magwell isn't in spec.

My wife owns a very early M&P that only drops pre-1995 Colt mags. My three AR's drop any mag I stick in them.
