Default Bolt seams diff..

Okay, I got my new MP 15 sport 2.
And I was field stripping to check everything out, On reassembly, I put the bolt back in and spining it to see the beveled hole to put the bolt cam back in and there wasn't one, Makes it a little harder to put back together....
My first M16 issued in 71, Had that bevel, I was thinking, Something is missing....
Maybe I'll try and find a bolt with the bevel on the Cam pin hole....

I don't know about your Sport II, but I wouldn't base any firearm opinions on the M16 you had 45 had 45 years ago.

Not really comparing as much as remembering and thinking something was missing, That bevel sure did make it easier though..

I double checked mine before commenting. My ATI doesn't have the bevel either. My M&P10 on the other hand, does. Interesting.

My BCM does, my S&W PSX does. Interesting indeed.

..
Just press the cam pin lightly, and give the bolt lugs a lil wiggle back and forth. She'll drop right in.

Bevel? I don't remember ever seeing one. I just ensure the extractor is on the right side.

The S&W M&P-15 is not the M-16 you (and I) were issued during the Vietnam Era.

The manufacturing techniques and the dimensioning are somewhat changed from what Colt (or in the case of the M-16 I carried, the Hyrda-Matic Division of General Motors) was making back in the day.
