One of my sons set out to build a really nice AR-15 using all Palmetto Arms, Magpul, SRC bolt and some high end trigger group he had to completely assemble from parts, it breaks like glass w/o any take up or over travel @ about 5-6lbs. I'd say, Well, he has since decided he wants an AR-10 instead, so I bought it off of him (hey, I had to, he built it himself and it was his first build ever, how cool, right). The cheesy fore grip was on for looks at this time. It's has a real nice low profile laser on the other side of the rail. First order of affairs is to replace the quad and the fore grip. I like the angled fore grip from Magpul so I'm gong with that, but what are some really nice high end Quads to look at?

Are you set on leaving the front sight post and have ruled out a free float? Nice looking rifle. If you want to keep the post, look at the Knights Armament RAS quad. Great drop quad in and rock solid.

Ps. I might actually be selling my KA rail because I'm taking my Sport back to stock.

Good advice. Personally I would remove the A2 post and then free float it with a M-lok or Keymod. Quadrails are sort out of favor vs the newer formats.

Hey, watch it there! My Sport 1 QR is almost 4 years old and my AR-556 QR is a few months old. I they think they look very good.

Just getting into them myself, but I like the looks of the A2 sight post and the look and functionality of the rails so they're staying. I'll add a compact blinding LED flood light on the other side of the rail and will be doing a SBR on it. I ordered the Magpul angled front grip in OD to match the other furniture. I already have a vertical fore grip on my Tommy gun and they really aren't as comfortable as the horizontal. Its for home defense, I don't hunt.

You going to get a new upper then to SBR it?

By the way, expect a long wait on that SBR paperwork. I have a Form 4 in for a silencer going on 7 months now, still pending.

Actually up until a few weeks ago the BATFE was saying if you were over 6 months, something was wrong. That time table is out the window now.

I like your QR. I have one on my Sport 1 & my AR-556. They are made by UTG.
