M&P AR15 Sport mfg date
I just bought a used M&P AR15 Sport and I'm trying to find out the manufacturing date. The serial number starts with SV23xxx. Any help will be appreciated.

You will have to call S&W. I would be more concerned with the features and condition than the manufacturing date. If you could tell us the twist rate of the barrel, what kind of rear sight, and if it has or doesn't have a forward assist and dust cover, we could at least tell you what generation it is.

1/9 twist, no dust cover or forward assist, MBUS flip up rear sight. I'm new to this kind of weapon so any info is golden. Thanks

Sounds like you got the last generation of the Sport 1. They were in production from 2012? to last year when the Sport 2 came on the market. So your rifle is anywhere from 1 to 4 yrs old.

Thank you. It's in very clean condition and some Magpul upgrades? I've yet to shoot it but will be this weekend. Thanks again!
