Battle of the AR cases poll
Let the battle begin!
Feel free to prove why your AR case is superior vs another type. Just keep in mind, some will come attempting to learn.

For General Use I prefer a Soft Type Case,Hard Cases are Nice & do offer better protection But Take up a lot more room

Soft for general use... hard for travel or where security is the overriding concern.

Soft, no need for a hard case to go from house to car to range and back again.

I'll take the hard cases any day over the soft. I have plenty of soft cases sitting around empty. We often take the ARs to the desert, and it's the hard case that provides solid protection. For value, the Plano 42" (46" outer dimension) is hard to beat.

Some sorta soft case that came with a purchase of a used rifle. Don't remember the name. Has pockets for mags!
Mine is best cause it was free!

Mine is a soft case that was made for the AR-15 that is well padded and has plenty of pockets for magazines. In fact I have two AR-15s and two of these cases. They make a case that holds two AR-15's but I chose to have two single gun cases.

I use a padded soft case made for the AR-15 as said others said before, plenty of pockets for mags, and targets, easy on the auto interior, and they are only about $25.

I like soft cases for trips to the range because they usually have straps / sling so I can wear it on my back and keep my hands free for carrying an Ammo can.

Plano 42 inch hard case, too.
When it's in the trunk with a lock at every corner, it really causes the police to relax at a traffic stop.
But then, I don't think they were really interested in writing me a ticket as much as they wanted to look over the fully restored Plymouth Barracuda I was dirving at the time.

Pelican and SKB hard cases. Here in MA we're required to transport them in a locked case. I'm sure soft cases are lockable, but some officers might not agree.

Curious as to what the reason for having 2 single cases is

I voted soft. But it depends on what you're doing. Just loading up to go out hunting and general home storage I like soft. But if you're flying somewhere and its going to be handled by airport personal and stowed then definitely hard.

Same here. Her own rifle, and a fairly expensive one at that. That's why we protect the investments with hard cases.

Because I take two AR's to the range sometimes and I usually have one at a time out at the shooting bench. It's just me and one is black and the second one is tan.

To be completely honest, what I use most in my loony moonbat state is soft electric guitar cases like this one...
... with a zipper lock to satisfy our moonbat state storage and transportation laws.
It really helps keep the moonbat neighbors from panicking and otherwise losing their minds over G-G-G-Guns.

You really have to check them out in person if at all possible... or at least I do here because my moonbat state's lock requirement. Padding and quality and size vary all over the place. In general, you get what you pay for. I had to send my first one back because it was very poorly made. I did better the second time around, in part because I was able to check out the brand at a local Guitar Center store.

TTSH,
Thanks for mentioning the lock requirement.
I had to re-read the law.
I'll be sure the case I get is lockable!!!
Thanks again.

The case I keep my bass in is a "hard" soft case.. All foam and nylon, but retains it's shape while maintaining a lightweight and sleek profile. It'd keep the rifle snug in there as well so it won't slide around being "tossed" around.
