Default What chamber reamer was used?

I have an M&P 15 that has the barrel market 300 Whisper/300 ACC Blackout.

Did S&W use the 300 Blackout reamer, the 300 whisper rearmer, or a custom reamer.

I would assume that the chamber is cut to .300 Blackout specifications, since the case length and the OAL is longer on the BLK than the Whisper.

I assume it is that also, but then why add 300 Whisper name to the barrel? S&W is the only company doing this.

Possibly because many people ask if the rifle can shoot both and they are trying to curtail the confusion? I know that question gets asked all the time regarding 5.56mm / .223.

You will probably need to talk to S&W to get your answer... but there are probably only a handful of S&W employees that know the answer. Good luck!

I have talked to S&W and all they will say is that the rifle will shoot both.
