got to shoot my Sport today
It's been cold, windy and wet for a month but I got to get out and shoot today (finally). I was very pleased with the accuracy of my Sport and the fact that my Vortex Strikefire II was still perfectly zeroed. I was shooting off hand at a 5" target at 50 yards or more and I was nailing it pretty much every time. I can't ask for more than that from a rifle that hasn't had the zero tweaked in a good while.
If you're sitting on a fence thinking of buying a S&W S&P 15 Sport don't. Go for it. You will not be unhappy with your choice (yeah sometimes every company makes a lemon). I just know mine is an excellent rifle. It's everything I could ask for in a rifle in it's price range. They're selling for $500 again. You won't do better than that IMO. Great warranty, great reputation, great price and great rifle.

In the course of my Armslist wheelin'-n-dealin', I've crossed paths with several Sport I's, and a Sport II, and they've all been very solid rifles (and I say that having owned stuff from Colt,DD,Spikes, etc.)
Not only are they an excellent bang-for-the buck for recreational blasting, I believe they're fully capable in a home-defense/SHTF/Red Dawn/Zombie Apocalypse role.

I agree, shot 700 rounds of "******" steel case Wolf WPA through my OEM+ Sport II on Sunday and didn't have a single malfunction. I could drill 4" steel at a sustained rate of fire and had no trouble hitting little 1/4lb tannerite jars at 100yards. You can't ask for more than that from a $500 rifle, and with a lifetime warranty from a major manufacturer included, it's truly amazing value for money IMO.

Did the same the other day with my son, really enjoyed our first hundred rounds! Felt nice and light with no problems. I have my own Rockriver with a 20" barrel which is nice, but that cost a heck of a lot more!

I have to agree with all that has been said. I bought one and it was dead on at 100, right out of the box. A lot of gun for the money. Paid a bit more during the panic, but I am very happy with the gun. I have my Colt's and it runs just as smooth as they do. Can't go wrong with em.

Cannot go wrong with a Sport. Even if you want to downplay the barrel, you can rebarrel it for much less that whatever you were going to compare it to to begin with. Just bought a Sport II because they were on a sale. Already have a Sig M400 I paid $1200 for years ago. I've compared that Sig to my cousin's Sport and well, the Sig has a few differences that are noticeable, but nothing in the way of how either rifle performs when you pull the old trigger. Never found the Sport (2013 model) to be any less accurate. Never had any malfunctions of any sort with either (aside from not cycling Tula **** reliably). Really, the only difference was the Sig M400 came with a piece of **** trigger and the Sport didn't.

It censored H o, H o, H o right before Christmas. Better safe than sorry I guess. It is a family board.
I want to say again that my Sport was dead on the money at about 50-60 yards shooting off hand. I haven't done one thing to affect how it shoots either. I can only imagine how well it would shoot with a rest. But IMO the rifle wasn't really designed to be shot from a rest. It's a run and gun type rifle IMO. So I practice shooting off hand. I have been very pleased with this rifle. Not one failure of any kind yet and very good accuracy. What else is there? I did change the front grip. I wanted a heat shield and a better way to attach a hand grip.

I have many AR15's that i turned into Tier 1 and since I spent a ton of money upgrading, I didn't want to shoot them. So I was looking for a cheap beater gun and the Sport II I never thought I would like this gun but heard many great things. Will be looking to head to the range with it soon
