Have the previous mid-length MOE and not going anywhere but the new version T is on my 2017 got-to-have list.

It is odd that they were showing the handguard from the M&P15T with M-LOK with the Crimson Trace LiNQ System and calling it the M&P 15T.

You can see the additional rail section at the front of the handguard where you would attach the LiNQ. I wonder if it is just a M-lok rail section or if it is built in. It has the standard grip not the Crimson Trace grip required for the LiNQ so I would guess it is just a M-lok rail piece attached.

The standard M&P 15 T M-lok looks like this.

Yeah it's just an M-LOK rail section, you can see the nuts attaching it through the side of the handguard in the video. Still, it's a nice looking handguard, shame it doesn't come with a different buttstock and pistol grip.

Yeah in the end grips and stocks don't have to be expensive upgrades but something better than standard GI would be nice.

Would still add cost and may not be what everyone would like. I say stick with the lower cost options... They are cheap enough that you don't mind replacing them, if you want something else.

I understand that but I hate the growing size of the parts bin. LOL. The other thing I wish they would do is sell the rifle without the parts. No grip no stock so that people simply put on what they want. I know many people want to be able to shoot it right out of the box and that it would hurt their economy of scale but for many people not paying for something you are going to bin would be preferable but most likely I am in the minority.

Even the OEM models come with the A2 grip... if nothing else, it holds parts in place. I bet you would find that the price of the rifle would not change significantly by deleting just the stock.

I like that the 2017 models come with 1:8 twist 5R barrels.

I agree 100% but it doesn't make them any less useless. Yes I forgot about the A2 grips holding everything in place. LOL
