Ramp things up to doing some serious shooting and moving under time pressure and that grip has been removed from my gun.
Believe it or not, I actually like the original GI grip.
I've got a Magpul MOE+ grip that I'll let go if someone wants it.

I hear ya man..
But I still think you should try the CAA..
Before getting the CAA, I had ordered and received another grip I mentioned in my first reply, That Fab Defense one)..
Which was like the stock grip.. solid/hard as a rock..
But the CAA, is perfect man...
When I say "Soft", thats really not the best word for it..
I have seen/felt grips that were soft, like INNER tube soft (Soft/rubber, and felt it), and did not much care for them. But the CAA, is more like car TIRE "soft".. Meaning its actually ridged as heck, but has a soft kinda "Feel" to it VS the straight up solid plastic unit etc..
Plus with the Multiple options for back straps and finger straps (CAA), ya cant help but to find a good fit for your hand.,
