Default What If?

I'm thinking about removing my flash suppressor from my Sport 2 and installing a barrel shroud. I think the 1-1/2" shorter length plus the thicker diameter barrel would look really cool. What should I expect if I do this? Would the recoil change? Would the flash be too extreme? And what about the noise? Anything else I should consider?

I respect the opinions of this board and will (I promise!) consider them before I make this change.

Rick

Personally, I would put a long free float rail on vs. a barrel shroud. Never been a fan of that "shoulder thing that goes up".

You'll definitely get a lot more muzzle flash, and there will be more muzzle flip. As far as recoil, I doubt you'll notice any change. One thing to take into consideration is the fact the barrel won't cool as fast as the shroud will trap heat. Personally, never did like the idea of shrouds- extra weight that serves no real purpose.

It will look super cool with the bbl threads sticking out the end unless you have some sort of cap.
