Dating a M&P 15?
Hi, I've done a search (and even looked in the collectors guide) and can't find a reference. I'll apologize in advance if this is covered somewhere obvious.
I have a S&W M&P 15 Sport and am trying to date it (at least to the year.)
Serial # is SP340XX. Can someone point me in the right direction?

You can call S&W for the best info. You can post here about the features of the rifle and we can give you ball park.
Not sure what it really matters though... The M&P 15 Sport is not a collectible firearm.

Dating a M&P 15? I guess you could, but I bet conversation will be a little slow.
But seriously, just call S&W and they should be able to provide a date for it.

Thanks guys. I'll call.
ps. It does matter as the AG in MA has stopped sales of new ARs. I need to date this one to be able to sell it legally in MA.
