A word of caution here geo57. A ricochet of a steel plate can easily come back 60 yards with enough velocity to cause damage. The craters from previous shots increase the possibility.
Once had a .45 slug bounce back into the side of my hunting lease truck using piled cords of mesquite as back stop. Went in and came straight back at us and banged into the truck from 25 yards. We found a better backstop!
angling the target 20% forward will cause the splash to hit the ground and make the targets at least 2X as safe !! also allowing shooting at a closer distance and remain safe !!
