Default Front Sight Adjustment Tool

Has anyone ever seen one of these tools? I found this on a demo video on You Tube but the source link was busted and whoever made the video did not respond to anyone regarding the source for purchase. I would like to get one of these so any info would be appreciated. Have one for sale? Give me a shout.

Wheeler makes an adjustment tool also. I used it once to zero in my rifle and now it sits in my range bag.

Sight tools are nice and work well but all you need is this.

I used a pair of needle nose pliers, worked like a charm.

It is actually metal, probably cast aluminum. Here is a link to the video:

Would you mind sharing the reason? Very curious what this particular one does that other tools do not.

BTW, not a sight tool kind of guy... bullet tip method for me.

I like the ease of use and the lack of scratching using this tool.

I must be missing the "ease of use"... a standard tool that allows you to keep turning vs. stopping and having to turn this tool over to finish the adjustment per click seems a lot more easier to use.

My magpul front MBUS came with a little plastic sight adjustment tool. Had never used one before that, just a flat screwdriver and some forceps or sometimes my fingernails. I used it one time to zero the gun after I installed the sight, then I stuck it in the stock compartment on my ACS-L so I'd have something to go in there since over the years I have seemingly lost the matches, wire saw, and tiny fish hooks that came with my county fair prize Survival knife from 1986.

Do you have Facebook? I have a feeling that they are out of business, since their website is of no use anymore, and they haven't updated their FB page since 2013... FB leads me back to the same webpage linked in the Youtube video. But maybe you could message them.

I'll sell you mine for $100 since it's no longer made and a collector's item....(I'm kidding).

In all reality, that video shows that the tool scratches the sight. It's not like you'll be cranking away at the thing as you'll adjust in small amounts (clicks) to zero. Good luck finding one. I'm not sure if anyone can be of service. Might as well post in the classifieds and see if anyone has one for sale.

I'm not going to waste much more time looking for this. A clock winding key size 00 and a screwdriver or pointed punch to hold down the detent plunger is easy to manage for me. I am looking for ease of replacing the post not moving it one click. I did not realize I would be psychoanalyzed just because I like the tool in the video. Ask a simple question get a simple answer should be the rule on a forum.

Well in our defense, you asked

Yes, most of us have seen a front sight post adjuster. In your original post you never said you were looking for that exact tool. Try to be more specific and maybe you would get an exact answer, seems "simple" to me?

If you would look at my original post I made it very plain I was looking for a tool as pictured. Why else would I post the picture? Anyway it is not worth bickering over. Thanks for your service.

Clear to you, but judging from the responses, most thought you were looking for a sight adjustment tool... We get the "where can I buy a sight adjustment tool?" question on here all the time.

The video is four years old and people have been looking for a source for at least three years. The linked site is for sale so I would call the tool dead and move on. Perhaps it violated a patent but who knows.

The one I have fits a 1/4" hex drive handle or you can turn it by hand using the included key chain ring. You just push it into the sight gap to depress the pin and turn. There's no need for a two-step process. Could be why that one died.

He's already mentioned that he owns several front site tools, he was just looking for the one pictured.

Maybe he could take the picture or the vid to a machine shop and have them fab a one off in the same style?

Thanks everyone for your help and advise. There are so many alternatives and my current method of a brass punch and a plastic disposable eve dropper to grip the post works great. I do own several of the Amazon type that may or may not fit well on the detent of the sight post. I just happened to like the one in the video. I agree with hdrolling above and think there may have been some kind of issue with manufacturing and maybe it was a one run and done sort of thing. I understand S&W did supply a key with some rifles.
