Smartphone scope mounts

Has anybody used or using a smartphone scope mount and if so, what are your thoughts. Kind of looking at them.

Had never heard of them so I found some you tubes and now I know. I can see where they might be useful making hunting videos but I wonder what the firing pulses might do to your phone if you tried something more powerful than an AR.

I use a digiscope mount on my spotting scope at the range, I set it up in front of me and can just look up to see where I'm hitting instead of having to put my eye in the spotter scope.

Not sure how it would work on a scope attached to a rifle, what is your intent?

Phones don't make the best scopes. They are more problems than they're worth. Buy a scope meant for use on a rifle. And if you're trying to film GoPro are cheap and knockoffs are even cheaper

GoPro will take a good beating. I've been trying to break mine since I got it a couple years ago.

If money is spilling out of your pockets, you could look into the ATN X-SIGHT II. It's a digital scope with HD video and photo capabilities. It's also a night vision scope with the included IR illuminator. It comes in 3x14 and 5x20 models. I have the 5x20 that will let you push it to 5x50 with some graininess. What is slick is that you can set the distance (after a zero procedure) and the scope automatically adjusts the reticle. Even better is if you have it paired to the ATN Laser Range Finder, a single button press on the LRF will set the distance in the scope. This happens almost instantaneously. So you can shoot at 50yds, 320yds then back to 100yds in seconds. Or anywhere in between.

I don't want to sound like a commercial but the Recoil Activated Video (RAV) is slick too. Turn on RAV and you can select 5-30 seconds of video before and after you take a shot. No need to edit out a bunch of boring video of a shot.

I use this telephoto lens hooked up to my DSLR. It can go to 1300 mm plus you can buy an adapter that doubles that to 2600 mm. And the price for both is under $200. You will need a tripod. In fact 2 tripods are a good idea.

I can view the target on the view screen of the camera. If I want a group of people to be able to see and to be able to record a lot I hook the DSLR to a laptop computer.

That isn't the best camera lens in the world but it works great for a spotting scope. And it's better for photos than you might think.
