Default 15 sport 2 barely ejects

I have been having problems with my gun barely ejecting bullets. It barely shoots the brass out maybe a foot on average and the last bullet sometimes stays in the chamber even though the bolt still locks back. I got the bcm ejector spring upgrade and it still does it. Today I stripped down my gun and took a dust off can and put the extended straw thing inside the Gass port and sprayed into it pushing gunk if there was any back into the barrel. I shot it again and I got a consistent 2 o'clock 5 to 6 foot eject pattern. I guess I'm wondering if that was all that was wrong with it or could there be an underlying cause like the gas system is messed up or something else. I keep my gun very clean and lubed constantly and have checked everything else I can think,of. Any advice, comments, or very much appriciated
Thanks

Have you been using those long pipe cleaners in the gas tube? Those things get stuck and cause all kinds of problems.

Do you keep your chamber scrubbed clean? Dirty chambers can cause extraction problems.

If the last empty cartridge stays stuck in the chamber you either have extractor spring problems or are missing the rubber donut for the extractor, although I don't understand why it would always be the last cartridge fired.

By the way, the bullet is that pointy thing that goes down range when you pull the trigger.

Had you been sticking the 'extended straw thing' or any other thingies in the gas tube prior to this occurring? If so, my guess is that's what caused the problem to begin with and now you've corrected it. No, I don't believe there is any underlying problem with your gas system. My advice is leave the gas tube alone.

Not sure how trying to help a new member with the correct terms to use when dealing with these guns is a smart guy. I would think one should know the difference between a bullet and a casing and if you don't I would think one would welcome someone explaining the difference to them. Knowldedge is power, but I digress.

If the OP hadn't stuck anything in the gas tube, I'm not sure why there would be anything in there. Was there "gunk" that came out of the muzzle end of the barrel when you sprayed? How old/how many rounds through the gun.

Gunlover07, it sounds like you fixed the problem. There must have been something in the gas tube, either carbon or some foreign object. The ejection pattern sounds about perfect now. Also, the BCM SOPMOD bolt upgrade kit that Disabled1 linked to in post 7, is an excellent, inexpensive upgrade.

Just saying.. a Brand new guy to the forum, and using a little people skills woulda been nice..

I see he has not been back.. why am I not surprised..

P.s.. "Pointy thing" is the projectile...................
From Merriam-Webster:

Definition of projectile
1
: a body projected by external force and continuing in motion by its own inertia; especially : a missile for a weapon (such as a firearm)
2
: a self-propelling weapon (such as a rocket)

Definition of bullet
1
: a round or elongated missile (as of lead) to be fired from a firearm

Note that all bullets are projectiles, but not all projectiles are bullets.

My guess is that the OP just wanted confirmation that he had taken care of the problem and it wasn't something he overlooked. There are a vast number of posters that never return after their first few posts if they got an answer to their question.

There are any number of reasons this could have happened. Yes, it could have been some particulate matter in the gas tube. Garbage can get in there in many ways.

Inspect the barrel closely. Look at the gas port and see if it has a burr sticking into the barrel. It's possible that during manufacture, a small burr got left behind when they drilled the gas port. A burr like that could scrape off part of the bullet and lodge it in the gas tube.

I know this is reaching, but it's one possibility. If not checked and corrected, it will happen again.

Jesus I know the difference between the bullet and casing. You know exactly what I meant. Pardon me for not putting the correct term in there. Anyways....I keep my barrel and internals extremely clean. I clean after every time I shoot it even if it's 30 rounds. I might be a Lil Ocd but hey if it keeps my gun running smoother longer then screw it. I use a cable with white patches to clean it. I'll put clp on the patch run it through and let it soak while I clean the rest of my gun then take the bristle scrubber and run it through a few times then run patches through till I get no more black crud on the patches.

Make sure the bolt carrier is lubed. Grease the fingertip or q tip and put a light coat on the "sliding surfaces." Many times this will fix it. Joe

It sounds like you might have fixed the issue. If your rifle is still fairly new, you might want to lube the bolt pretty good or run it with gun grease like suggested above for a while until it gets broken in some.

I still run my AR15 and M&P10 with a light coat of grease on the wear parts of the BCG and the rear of the bolt lugs unless I'm out shooting when it's really cold. Then the synthetic gun oil comes out.

It looks like you fixed the problem. If your rifle is still pretty new, you might want to consider running the BCG pretty well lubed for a while or using gun grease like suggested above.

I still run my AR1 and M&P10 with grease on the parts that show wear and on the back of the bolt lugs unless it's really cold. It doesn't take much. A little in key spots makes a big difference.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm actually new to guns this last 6 months. So far most of the gun community is extremely friendly and helpful.
