Default Question about bolt release

Hello, I have several different extended bolt releases already, On one rifle I have the Magpul BAD lever, another wears the Phase 5 EBR, which is superior to the Magpul one. I truly hate the stock bolt release, it works ok for releasing the bolt, but the tiny point on the lever makes locking the bolt back difficult.

I have looked at the Boonie Packer and it looks interesting because it seems to intrude on the trigger area less than the others. I am reluctant to order one tho, because the lever and spring assembly seems a bit "rube goldberg" to me and looks like it is inviting a malfunction.

The rifle I need help with uses a CMC flat bladed trigger which leaves little to no room in the trigger guard for a bolt release. Does anyone know of an easy to use release lever that operates in the stock position, but a lot easier to actuate than the stock one?

Im looking forward to replies on this topic, especially relating to the CMC trigger.

Just watched the youtube video review of it, it just looks really bulky to me.

I use the BAD and phase 5 with no issues, I wouldn't even consider this one.

I use the Seekins Precision. Simple, but works well.

That's nice looking, but I think the OP is talking about ambi bolt releases.

I guess I'm weird because I have no trouble with the original. However, I'm not everyone and there is plenty of room for different ideas.

I like the one from Geissele.

You are correct, my bad. The two he said he owned and the one he was asking about are all ambi so I thought that's what he was wanting.

The two he are talking about are not ambi per se, they are extended bolt catches.

I love the Phase 5, it attaches directly to the lower and doesn't clamp on to the OE bolt catch like the Magpul. Much sturdier and no wobble.

That being said, I too am with the OP on using the OE bolt catch to lock the bolt open, it's too small and I like keeping my right (shooting/trigger) hand on the pistol grip while I pull the charging handle with my left hand. In doing this the extended bolt catches allow me to lock the bolt open with my right hand without reaching under to the left side of the lower. Works much more intuitiely for me. I love my Phase 5's, I have them on all my rifles except my KAC which I can't because that is a true ambi and it won't work on that rifle.

I just ordered one of these. Strike Industries enhanced bolt catch from Primary Arms. It has larger paddles and should be easier to manipulate than the OEM catch without being too obtrusive.

Default UPDATE

I ordered the Geissele Maritime bolt catch. It arrived yesterday and it will fill the job perfectly. Nice large tabs for easy action.

Thanks for all of your advice.
