Default I purchased an M&P 15 Sport II

That white logo and lettering though. What are we going to do about that? I am assuming nail polish remover won't get rid of it, or might damage the finish. Anyone have suggestions as to how they removed the white paint from the side?

I really like the finish actually. So that plan is out. Maybe I will try a Sharpie. Smith & Wesson really needs to rethink that white lettering.

Why? What's the big deal about the lettering?

Some people like white lettering. Some don’t. Put me in the latter category. It seems like the safer bet would be to follow the norm set by every other AR maker in existence, and not have white lettering.

Honestly, I never even gave it much thought... I had to go look at my rifle to see what the complaint was.

With AR prices at such an all time low, seems to me that the safer bet would be to buy a rifle from any other AR maker in existence that followed the norm, if it bothers you so much...

Why buy a rifle you don't like?

The upper and lower finish on the S&W AR's should be anodized black. The white logo most likely gets laser engraved after the lower is finished and what you see is bare aluminum.

Aluminum passivates on its own when it comes in contact with oxygen. You can not remove the logo. You re left with painting, using a Sharpie, or using Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black.

Fill it in with a black lacquer pen.
