I’m not a huge fan of the steel magazines. The aluminum GI mags are good enough for our troops and have been for roughly fifty years so that’s good enough for me.
I do have to admit that I typically run the Magpul P-mags most of the time these days as they’re cheap and readily available and I haven’t had any issues with them.
There’s an old article from Shotgun News where they do some pretty extreme torture tests to the various AR magazines. I’ll have see if I can find a link.

As far as steel mags go, the ones from Beretta have been getting pretty good reviews. These are the ones for their ARX-100 rifle, and are actually marked with a National Stock Number so they may be Italian military mags.
If you go to Beretta USA's website they're normally $35 each, but Beretta is running a 60% off sale, which is a pretty good deal.

Specifically steel? Or do you mean aluminum? Anyway, any mag made for an AR in 556 should work. Sometimes a mag may have issues for whatever reason.
If you specifically want steel the CETME C mags are some serious steel and work in the ARs. However, since the SETME C is a different design the mags WILL NOT hold the bolt back on the last round in an AR. But they are heavy..... noticably heavy
Apex gun parts has them for about $7ea. Or at least they had them at that price.
Also Israeli E-Lander mags
Is there a reason you're specifically looking for steel AR mags?

Lancer, Pmag, Troy, Hexmag.....all polymer and ALL will take a heck of a beating.
There's a few videos showing their durability. I can't post them due to the occasional curse words

The polymer mags (Magpul, Hex etc) do really well with hard use too, I never felt the need to use steel for any situation. Just a FYI.

USMC has authorized PMAGs for combat use... seems they are up to task for "hard usage situations". Other services use aluminum magazines...
Just what kind of "hard usage situation" are you talking about?

The ASC magazine that came with my MP-10 was so bad, I tossed it after the first range session.
If you want mags for hard use, get the Magpul 30 or 40 rounders. They are tough. Aluminum mags from Colt, OKAY and NHMTG are top choices. All have been proven on the battlefield.
I've got one or two steel AR mags laying around that I'll send you for the cost of shipping ($6) but I've never been able to get them to fit in the magwells of any of my ARs.
The solution to your problem is MagPul, Colt, OKAY and NHMTG

Try these.
AR15 30RD 223 STAINLESS MAGAZINE C PRODUCTS
CDNN SPORTS - CDNN Sports - Huge Savings on Guns and Magazines
Blackened stainless steel. Twelve bucks. Have several. Use them in one of two Sport IIs. Never let me down. No affiliation with CDNN other than the fact I have bought from them in the past.

Gun laying in pick up bed and going to rock supply yard and dumping 1/2 a yard of jaw run on top of it.
