Bought myself a bday present
Was looking into the DPMS Oracle, but my LGS steered me toward this. Came with the case, speed loader, one magazine, no sights, $530 otd. I haven't handled one of these since I was discharged from the Army 20 years ago. Pretty much a range gun. Im gonna learn to shoot it all over again. I need to do some research on scopes before I buy one, since I don't know anything about scopes.
This is my 3rd M&P purchase in the last 5 months. First it was an M&P 9c, then an M&P 2.0 9mm, and now an M&P 15.

A great scope for an AR-15 is the Nikon P223 3x9x40mm scope as it's made specifically for the AR in this caliber. It has tactical style turrets that you adjust. Once zeroed you pull them out and return them to 0 on the dials and you let them down and you are set.
Here's my S&W Sport II with one on it.

I use the Vortex Spitfire 3X prism scope, on my M&P Sport 2 (Magpul furniture).
It's very fast for target acquisition and yet good out to several hundred yards.
I call it a poor man's ACOG.

Nice find and present. Especially at that price.

Another option is the Vortex Strikefire II red dot. Works well for me.

Got a Firefield 2.5-10x40 scope for $79. Has illuminated red or green reticle, and red laser. Still learning about scopes, but it was on sale and a friend recommended it. I'm dying to get it out to the range, but I've been too darn busy.
