Default Vortex Strike Eagle

I just purchased a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x24 for $249.99 from primary arms. I also picked up a cantilever mount to put it on my Sport II. I was wondering if anyone else had used this scope/rifle combination and what their experiences were.

Micah,
I have the same scope mounted on my Sport II. I have not had an opportunity to fire the rifle as yet since mounting the scope. But I like the compensating reticle in the scope. I have a Vortex Diamondback with a similar reticle minus the illuminated reticle that works extremely well for me. It allows me to compensate for longer distances by simply using the small stadia lines beneath the center aiming point for my zero distance by simply raising my aim point quickly and not having to make adjustments of my scope turret. It takes a small bit of shooting to find out where each of those additional aiming points hit your aiming point, but once found for the ammo you are shooting, then you should be able to get good hits at distances beyond your scope's zero point. I intend to sight my Sport in with 55 grain hunting ammo at 200 yards. Then I'll shoot at 300 using the first and second of the stadia lines to see where they hit. A bit of calculation should allow me to get really close if I know the exact distance to my targets. I fully expect the reticle in the Strike Fire to allow me to do the same thing with it.

My experience with Vortex products has been uniformly good. Use the bullet drop compensator on their website to figure out what your specific bullet is likely to do with whatever zero you choose to use.

I have maybe 8 Vortex of various models and prices. Very happy with all.

I just bought the 1-8X24 and am looking forward to mounting it and taking it out for a spin. Can't beat their warranty!

I have a Vortex Strike Eagle 1x8 with a light weight mount and it is quit an optic for the money. In the price range, $200-600, it is one of the best.

Great optic for the money. If you want to save some weight, look for the Aero lightweight cantilever mount, saves a good bit of weight and is an excellent mount. Good luck with it.

I was out zeroing my Aero mount yesterday on my Burris XTR 1x5. I hate zeroing, but a necessary evil.
