The slip on recoil pad on that 94 will eventually cause the stock finish to deteriorate underneath.

.30-30. I have bony shoulders and the recoil is not comfortable.

Thanks for the tip, I was unaware. I couldn't find anyone that could help me find the right screw-on sized so I went this route.

Buy a shooters shoulder pad and leave the 94 unaltered.

Hard to tell from the Pic what yours is, my 94 is the angle eject model. At this point I've killed more deer with that gun than I will have years left to even get close with another rifle. A very misunderstood and under estimated rifle.

Pre 64 94's that have been unmolested, there are two absolute rules to follow.
Rule #1, Under no circumstance alter / molest / restore
Anything!
Rule #2, If you are absolutely positive your alteration,
molestation, restoration will make the 94
better in some way.
SEE RULE #1 !!!!!

My 94 is from 1963. Bought it unfired a year ago. For me though it's a shooter that was cheaper than a new (but cheaply built) model....
Shooter Shoulder pad...wonder why that never came up when I was looking for a solution? Thanks.
