Default New M&P 15 FDE

Just got this from CDNN ($699.73 shipped). This has the older Magpul furniture. I believe new production includes the Slimline style.

In fact, this particular model may be discontinued as I think CDNN is where older guns go to die

That's a great deal on an older Mid MOE. It has the 4150 barrel. The new ones are 4140. Not that that matters a whole lot. I put the SL handguard on mine for the M-Lok. Best of both worlds.

Yeah.

That's why CDNN was selling it at such a significant discount that you decided to buy from them.

I have bought from CDNN for years. They are a liquidation firm and so sell what others cannot liquidate through their own channels. They make this clear on their website.

I fail to see the problem.

You got a rifle that was "as advertised". It may not have been what you hoped it would be, but CDNN is only responsible for delivering merchandise "as advertised" and not "as imagined" by the customer.

Not sure what you mean, but I got exactly what I ordered. I'm happy.

And apparently I qualify (as retired military) for S&W's promotion. This is a $100 prepaid Mastercard.

Wonder why the change from 4150 on the older ones to 4140 on the newer ones?

Can only assume cost cutting. All things consideredI I'll take the barrel over the sl furniture.

There’s no problem. You failed to comprehend what the OP was stating.

Nice rig!!

Nice! I really like the FDE colored furniture. Just added basically the same MP parts to my Sport II. Yours came with an FDE mag.? I've been looking for those but from what I understand Magpul discontinued the old FDE color and offer Sand (neutral) and Coyote instead.

Yes, it came with the pictured FDE mag. I also heard that Magpul has discontinued this color but they can still be found on various Internet stores on occasion.

Not sure if this is closer to FDE or Coyote Tan, but Okay Industries has these:

I did all the change over, low profile gas block was the hardest part, but not horrible. I am debating on buying a better trigger assembly, and suggestions?

Before spending money on a trigger, take the factory fire control group out of your lower. Clean it up real good, then lube the sears, pivot points and the bottom of the hammer with clean grease. Any clean grease will do. Re-install. It will be much smoother.

To further improve trigger feel, cock the hammer then push on the back of it lightly with your thumb and press the trigger. (Don't let the hammer fall on the unprotected lower. It will cause damage.) You want to push just enough that you can feel the resistance in the trigger press, so go easy. You don't want to round off the corners of the sears or chip them. Do this a few times. It's amazing just how well this works to smooth out your trigger pull.

Then go shoot your carbine. The trigger may clean up well enough that you won't need to spend money on a replacement.

I'll try new grease. The exercising of the hammer/sear sounds like what I had to do to my 10/22 back in the day. Thanks for the suggestions. We called it "Cresting" cause we used crest toothpaste to polish the sear.

Great deal on a very good carbine. Congrats. Not even gonna mention what I paid for mine years ago. That carbine will become one of your favorite.
