I know someone who has a LNIB Aimpoint Pro and he’s asking 400 for it. It’s model 12841 that sells for 450 on Amazon. I think it would be great for my M&P 15 but have no clue how to value a used red dot.

Check the website for all the stuff that's supposed to be included and make sure all the stuff is there, first. The first 4 steps on the dot intensity are for night vision use, only 3 & 4 are visible with the naked eye in darkness. Total of 9 actual dot intensity settings. Be sure you've got 7 that you can see with your eyes. Make sure there's no scratches on any lens, no buggered threads on the battery compartment cover and that the mount is all right.

If all that's good, maybe start at $350? A used item is generally worth about the wholesale value unless it's really scarce. A SWAG on wholesale is around $380-unless someone here has actual figures.
