Default Iron sights to work with existing CTS-103

New to site and the M&P 15 Sport 2. Just purchased the rifle yesterday and the CTS-103 optic has a problem with the red laser. Have to send back to S&W to get it replaced. Wondering can I get some iron sights or similar to work in conjunction with the CTS red/green optics? Hope that makes sense because right now I have no sight at all for the range. Thanks in advance.

Yes, just make sure you get metal, not plastic; the gas block will melt the front sight if you use plastic. I started out with UTG folding sights on mine. They work well. I liked iron sights so well, that I purchased Daniel Defense sights and forsook the red dot. I'm good out to nearly 100 yds, and that suits my purposes perfectly. Good luck and enjoy your rifle.

Make sure you get a front sight that is made for a gas block mount and not a handguard rail mount, they are 2 different heights.

Adding to this thread as I just purchased this AR yesterday and think I might want some backup sites as well. Maybe the off-center sites or possibly a front site setup that works well with this red/green dot.

I am a total newbie to the AR platform and would love some detailed insight and part number suggestions.

Thanks!

My son, who owns several rifles, suggested I get Magpul MBUS pro offset front and rear offset flip ups. Waiting on delivery now. Will update once their installed and used.

If he has the optics ready version with the Crimson Trace Red Dot, the gas block rail is the same height as the rail on the upper.

If you get a rear shaped like a standard AR carry handle then you'll have to remove it when you get your laser back so avoid that.

Also as already been mentioned stay away from plastic sights if your going to mount the front to a gas block.

SO as you can see the prices vary by a wide margin. I've used GG&G with good success. Also there is nothing that says you can not mix and match fronts and rears.
