Is there a decent Chinese Iron Sight Set
Sport II with red dot OR/gas block mount. Have read all the posts I think, looking at Amazon reviews all have some really bad reviews. Even some of the more expensive Americn made ones, some bad reviews on the web. So has anyone found a flip up, sight that will hold up and actually works for more than 10 rounds that is not too expensive.
New here.
Last time I shot an M-16 was 1971 at a range in Korea, up
a mountain,at 500M. Eyes are shot but need backup anyway.
Great forum,lots of knowledge.
A 1/15 FA-Korea 1971

What kind of front sight standard or flat. I have a carbine with m-lock hand guard that I use Magpul front and rear. I would suggest you go ar15 dot com and look under discussion forums for ar15 then scroll down to optics, mounts and sights. There is a thread now on Giesselle sights but there are some good ones made, I have heard that utg-leapers are good for the money. Let us know what you deside on

Flip up flip down flat. I also read need Magpul Pro metal sights for use on
a hot gas block, yet some here indicate it won't melt. The weapon is for HD so hopefully not fired much, but then again may like range time. Most American made sights getting hard to find. So looking at chinese metal sight that might hold up.
Thanks Oldmike

Ok after lots of quick searching went with UTG Accu Sync
MPN:
757 & 957
Tried Amazon but they only had the front, had to go to the big auction house to buy, some other places wait 6 weeks.
Watch out there is a chinese knock off at the big aution house.
Thanks for the tip on ar15com and UTG. Actually these might be mada in china, but I imagine to UTG specs.
If any interested, here is what I really shot, much more than a M-16.

Ok finally got them, anything but first class mail is slow. Made in Taiwan, look to be quality. A little stiff on the button push, need to be worked in or a drop of oil. Not mounted as of yet. But what do I know, was in the artillery. Oldmike

Please consider purchasing a sight not made in the PRC. There are lots of quality options made by free people. Good luck in your search.

Speaking of Chinese junk, well not exactly. Anyhow front sight alignment tool from Amazon.
Make sure prongs are alinged straight, then I had to file off each prong with a flat file, to fit into the UTG sight height adjustment holes. After that it worked. Prongs were just a bit too wide to fit into the holes on the UTG sight. A few thousands I guess on each prong.
By the way going to bore sight using eye ball and ballistic computer target. Tried chinese junk laser borsighter, which was not zeroed to center of its own bore. Did not want to mess with it so sent back.

Only thing PRC seems to be good at making is a virus - I'm not interested in ANYTHING they sell. Just got over their virus and it's pretty rough.

I was looking for something inexpensive and reliable too and stumbled on the Bugleman BUIS pair on Amazon for $19.99!! Now, before you click me off, they look and feel very well made, fit on the rail nicely and appear to be made of steel. All raters have given them 5 stars. They fold flat with a button push and pull right up. A sight adjustment tool is included, but not sure what it's used for as windage and elevation are adjusted with small nobs. Also includes an Allen wrench. Haven't shot them yet but for 20 bucks what else can I say?!

I certainly cannot disagree with that. Just trying these out; may upgrade to USA later.
