Default Rear sling mount

Hello.

I have an m&p sport that I purchased in 2011. I’m looking for the stock rear sling mount and screw. I have yet been able to find any. Are there any other terms for it other than sling mount or attachment.

AR15 rear sling attachment brings up a zillion google hits. Is it specific to your model or a basic mil-spec type?

If you're talking about the sling loop that goes into a slot in the toe of the butt plate, Numrich (gunpartscorpdotcom) should have the carbine rear sling loop. Brownells usually has them but they're out of stock. Finding the machine screw may take some doing. There's several sources of threaded fasteners once you know exactly what you want (Fastenal is one). You might try S&W customer service or parts department. They might be able to scratch something up, but I expect most buttstocks show up at the factory already assembled.

If all else fails, GPC has used complete buttstocks for about $22. You can rob parts as needed.

Someone who's upgraded their buttstock to something sexier/more tacticool might part with their original one for less. You might try a want to buy here.

I have the original buttstock for my M&P with the sling mount laying in my spare parts box. I replaced it before I even fired the rail with another buttstock. I'd be willing to throw it in a box and send it to you if you're in the US?

Does the sling mount differ from other AR carbines?

Honestly I'm really not sure. I don't think it's really all that different from other milspec buttstocks other than the S&W symbol, can't say though.
I replaced the whole buttstock with a buttstock that has a quick disconnect sling mount built into it.

Thanks. I would find it strange if it differed beyond aesthetics.
