Default New M&P 15, with opensights

Bought a brand new ,in the box M&P 15, 4 -10 round Magpul mags, out of california for 500.00 plus tax and shipping,,575.00 total. Bought a mag release assy. From Midwayusa, took about 30 minutes to get rid of the “bullet button”. How did the left coast ever come up with such a thing? Put on a holosun red dot, military sling, it shoots great! California is a good place to buy rifles from!

No, only the bullet button, otherwise everything normal, flip up rear, f marked fixed front. Kept them ,added a drop in handguard Leapers, Mtu001SS ,that I love. Slim with top rail and add on bottom and side rails if wanted.

Obviously, it was intended to make changing magazines slower and more difficult.

In the ever tightening spiral of California gun laws the Bullet button was a way around registering your AR15 with the state as an "Assault Weapon"

About 2 years ago they closed that "Loophole" and guns equpied with the Button had to be registered again as "AW's"

People keep inventing new ways around the regulations and while the Bullet Button is History they come up with new fixes almost as fast as the CDOJ finds ways to try and plug the holes.

Featureless is one approach. No flash suppressor. Fixed Stock and finned grip and we keep our normal magazine release.

Locked magazine has several options that all add a step to get the magazine to unlock or reload the magazine in place.
Ejection port loaders. Mags that the bottom opens on.
Cracking the upper / lower to drop mag.

Welcome to California :-)

Bob
