Default M&P 15

Bought a new M&P 15 on August 21st. Sent it to S&W today. Won't feed more than 4 rounds before jamming. Bolt sticks and double feeds. Tried three kinds of ammo. No go. Can't wait to get it back.

Yikes! What type of ammo did you use?

What's the process for getting warranty service, e.g. did they e-mail you a shipping label?

I'm sure that you field stripped it, cleaned all of the factory fish oil off it, applied a good quality lubricant on the bolt carrier, bolt, and inside the upper before you brought it to the range for the first time, right?

Not an expert by any means, but could it be a buffer/spring problem? Agree that a NIB firearm should work properly, just trying to rule out before sending it back for warranty servicing only to be informed that the expert has found no condition problem as reported.

Possibly an issue with gas key, gas block, or gas tube. Should be an easy fix for the factory.

Local delivery restriction - Delivery not attempted. This is what the fedex tracking site says about my M&P15 on the way to S&W.

Maybe S&W receiving closed or FedEX at wrong location.

Now the tracking says no updated time for delivery. To me that means that Fedex doesn't know the package is or they lost it.

I've been having similar problems with FedEx in terms of non-hazardous and non-gun products I buy on Ebay and Amazon. In particular, they provide an estimated delivery date, but on the delivery date, there's no update. Then the packages are in a diffeent part of the country with no updated estimated delivery date.

Heck, even USPS is more reliable than FedEx lately, and that says a lot.

Did S&W give you an option to use UPS, DHL, or another carrier, or were you stuck with Fed Ex (Fed Up, as it were)?

No option. Called yesterday and S&W says they have the gun and the Fedex tracking site is all messed up. Got an e-mail this morning that says gun being processed. They also gave me an RMA #.
