Default .22 Uppers

Hello All and Happy New Year. You guys with MP Sport II rifles, what are you guys running for .22 uppers? I hear stories about .22 uppers not working reliably in some AR lowers. My rifle's stock and will stay that way, so just looking for a drop on upper that shoots decent for .22lr. I expect a few duds, as 22 ammo always has them, but the CMMG's function pretty well in the online vids. Thanks for any help guys.
PS: I'm not near my rifle right now, do the new mfgd MP Sport 2 OR w/CT Red Dot models, come with rounded, or notched hammers?

I just use the .22 conversion kits. Easy on the range bag and less
space used in the safe.

22LR AR Conversion Kit, Bravo, w/3 Magazines, BLK | CMMG - AR 15 and AR 10 Builds and Parts

I have the CMMG Quebec A... dedicated .22lr upper that is on a CMMG lower. I added a Redimag adapter to use S&W M& P15-22 magazines and gives me the last shot bolt hold open feature.

It works well and I do like that the barrel the proper twist rate for .22lr.

I have a 22 conversion similar to the ones described. Installed in my 1996 Bushmaster A4 (1:10) it shoots a 2" group at 50 yards using a 6.5-20 Veri-X III the group is about 8 inches low and 2 inches right.

These were issued to National Guard units for qualification indoors. Expert shooters often didn't qualify! I have had the ammo they used, it shot great in 22 bolt guns! That project was done away with!

I think the good advice I was given years ago regarding .22 conversion units for 1911s pretty well applies to all conversion units...if you want a .22, get a .22, not a conversion unit.

Drawbacks of course include a need for slightly more storage space and added cost, but the convenience of having two guns is worth it to some shooters.

Regarding the expectation that there will be misfires with .22 ammo, go with good quality ammo, not the real cheap bulk stuff. You'll seldom if ever have a cartridge that doesn't fire when using good ammunition. If good stuff doesn't fire, you probably have a gun problem.
